He then worked as a post-doctoral research fellow under the join supervision of Prof Laura Downie (Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences) and Prof Scott Mueller (Doherty Institute) at the University of Melbourne, on a project that redefined understanding of the immune landscape of the human cornea.

Mengliang is currently a McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellow in Prof Laura Downie’s laboratory, where his primary focus is on research in ocular immunology, with a particular focus on corneal T cell formation and function. He also contributes his expertise in image analysis and biostatistics across multiple clinical and pre-clinical studies within the research Unit.
