Jeremy is a postdoctoral clinical research fellow in the Downie Laboratory: Anterior Eye, Clinical Trials and Research Translation Unit at the University of Melbourne, with expertise in ocular imaging and dry eye disease management. He is committed to translating research outcomes into real-world clinical impact, and challenging established paradigms to improve the lives of patients with chronic health conditions. His research vision is to see how the eyes could be windows to our body and health. He is currently leading collaborative studies evaluating corneal immune cell changes in different conditions and diseases.
Jeremyis experienced in running multidisciplinary research projects, having worked with industry and other researchers internationally and across Australia. He is a recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the University Medal in Optometry and Vision Science (UNSW Sydney), Early Career Research Division Tow Awards (Randwick Health and Innovation Precinct, Sydney), as well as international research travel grants from the International Society for Contact Lens Research (ISCLR) and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO).
He is also an avid science and health communicator, being involved in teaching optometry and medical students, and giving lectures to clinicians. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Clinical and Experimental Optometry peer-reviewed journal.
