Ratnpriya is a Master of Biomedical Science student at the University of Melbourne and a researcher in the Downie Laboratory: Anterior Eye, Clinical Trials and Research Translation Unit, supervised by Professor Laura Downie, Doctor Jeremy Chiang and Doctor Mengliang Wu. 

Ratnpriya completed her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biotechnology in India, graduating with First Division and Distinction. Her research interests span immunology, oncology, neuroscience, and decoding dysregulated disease pathways to cure pathologies or slow their progression. 

Ratnpriya served as a student president and founder of the Robotics club in her school. and later held roles like the head reporter for various conferences during her undergraduate studies. Driven by a multidisciplinary perspective, she has earned many accolades, the most recent being her first prize for an oral presentation in quantum biology and AI at a national conference in India.

Outside of the laboratory, Ratnpriya can be found making or teaching art and calligraphy, playing the piano, or trying to decode Agatha Christie mysteries before the final chapter.
