Senuri is a therapeutically endorsed, AHPRA-registered practicing optometrist and clinical research optometrist. She graduated in 2017 from the University of Melbourne, following the completion of the Doctor of Optometry program. After working as a primary care optometrist in regional New South Wales, Senuri transitioned into a research role, working as a clinical research optometrist at the Brien Holden Vision Institute. Here, she was involved in the development of myopia control devices and in conducting clinical trials.  

Currently, Senuri is a clinical research optometrist in the Downie Laboratory: Anterior Eye, Clinical Trials and Research Translation Unit at the University of Melbourne, where she is involved as a sub-investigator on multiple ophthalmic clinical trials focusing on the treatment of ocular surface disease. She is also involved in investigator-initiated projects, with a particular interest in corneal immune cell imaging using the Fun-IVCM technique. 

Senuri enjoys supporting Downie Laboratory students with their research projects, has contributed to a systematic review investigating clinical guidelines for the management of glaucoma suspects, and has published an article investigating ageing and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) within the human cornea. .
